ELITE RULES AND POLICIES OVERVIEW 2018

Elite status is best suited for players who intend to play lacrosse at the collegiate level or want to be the best that they can be and are highly committed to gaining exposure by participating in recruiting tournaments.  Elite players and families must be willing to commit to playing in all the events included in their membership as well as agree to the rules and policies listed here:

  • Elite Level 2019-2022 programs will be limited to two squads per class.
  • The class of 2023 and 2024/2025 will consist of one team each.
  • All players beyond the initial two squads will be wait listed until a spot becomes open.
  • Squads/Teams will be determined based on prior experience with MFL teams and recommendations/evaluations of the camp/clinic coaches. There is no official tryout day.
  • Elite players must commit to all tournaments during the Summer & Fall (see expected 2018 Schedule above)
  • We reserve the right to adjust the tournament schedule based on availability of our teams to enter such tournaments. If the schedule changes, we will inform you immediately.  DO NOT make travel plans until we have communicated that the tournament selection is FINAL.
  • Elite players must attend all scheduled Fall/Winter team practices.
  • Elite players must attend 4 out 6 of the Summer series of practice sessions in the player’s area, unless previously excused a minimum of one month in advance. (Attending College lacrosse camps is acceptable excuse but we must be notified one month in advance)
  • All players if missing a tournament must notify MFL in writing why they are not attending and unless approved by MFL staff, the player/family will be assessed a fee of $100.00. All tournaments will be posted well in advance. (Family events such as weddings, funerals are acceptable reasons for missing a tournament.  Injuries are also a valid excuse for missing a tournament.  Written approval by a staff of MFL is required in order to avoid the $100 fine.) Unexcused or drops will result in a $100.00 fine and reduce playing time in the next event. Forms will be posted on the players dashboard
  • There are no refunds for missed tournaments, cancelled tournaments or cancelling out of a camp or clinic. All fees are fully collectible in full once deposited and no refunds made. Injuries will receive credits on their account for future use on missed tournament fees if approved with doctor’s excuse.
  • Any player leaving an event prior to the completed scheduled games is also subject to reduced playing time in the next event.
  • Players may travel as a Solo to selected tournaments, but MUST sign and adhere to the MFL Solo rules in regard to hotel accommodations and behavior expectations. • Practice sites will be posted on the website and will be subject to field availability.
  • The Elite squads play by units by YOG and are coached by a college coach who is committed to those specific players and their individual development.
  • MFL and its affiliated organization reserve the right to remove any player without refund if the athlete is found being involved in unethical practices or unacceptable behavior.
  • Parents must be supportive and practice good sideline behavior. MFL and its staff have a 24 hour rule and want the leadership and ownership to fall on to the player. So we want to have your daughter be their own advocate when unhappy, frustrated or needing criticism.
  • Additional policies and procedures will be found in the membership packet online at time of registration
